Obaseki, Ize-Iyamu assure Oba of Benin of peaceful campaigns

The Governorship candidates of The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Godwin Obaseki and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu along with their running mates, Philip Shaibu and Gani Audu this evening attended a peace meeting at the Palace of the Obama of Benin, His Royal Majesty Omo n’Oba n’Edo iku Akpolokpolo, Oba Equate II.

The Oba said the meeting became necessary because of worries about violence surrounded the September 19 governorship election in the state.

Both parties and their candidates gave their words of assurance to conduct their campaigns peacefully.

The former governor of the state, Adams Oshiomhole, and APC chieftain, John Odigie-Oyegun were also in attendance.
