N50m approved for schools reopening


Benue State Executive Council has approved the sum of N50 million to ensure strict compliance with the COVID-19 protocols as schools reopen for exiting classes on Monday, 4th August, 2020.

This was disclosed by the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mrs. Ngunan Addingi at a press briefing after the state executive council meeting yesterday.

She also told newsmen that the two days weekly holidays given to civil servants to engage in farming activities ended yesterday, stressing that same would be done during harvesting season.

EXCO approved the take over of the defunct Lobi Bank building in Makurdi by the Board of Internal Revenue Service from Benue Investment and Property Company for use as its corporate headquarters.

EXCO also approved the enactment of a law for emergency and medical rescue services.
