The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has announced the death of its former Group Managing Director, Dr Joseph Dawha.
He is the second ex-GMD of the corporation to die in the last three months. Maikanti Baru, the immediate past GMD of the corporation, Maikanti died towards the end of May this year.
Mele Kyari, NNPC’s current GMD, in a tweet on Monday said Dawha died after a brief illness.
“The NNPC family regrets to announce the passing away of Dr Joseph Thalama Dawha, GMD NNPC 2014-2015, after a brief illness.
“We remember his astute leadership and immense contributions to the progress of the corporation. It’s a great loss to us, the nation and the family.”
Dawha was the 16th GMD of NNPC and served between August 2014 and August 2015.
